Nestled behind Chiang Mai Gate is a haven for art lovers and aspiring photographers – Baan Phor Liang Meun Terracotta Art Garden & Café. Although located quite central you may think  you just found a lost garden.

The garden is in fact an outdoor exhibition of the art studio –and manufacturer located just across the street.

Hundreds of beautiful overgrown artifacts depict Buddhist, Hindu and Chinese images and yep, they are all for sale. This is the perfect place for lovers of Southeast Asian art and in particular, terracotta art.

But don’t worry, even if you don’t plan to buy anything, feel free to just stroll around, take photos and sip a cappuccino (55 THB). It’s a perfect place to disconnect, read a book and relax.

If you should feel hungry, the café serves chicken green curry and pork red curry (55 THB each). The Terracotta Art Garden opens daily from 08:00-17:00 (no entry).

36 Phra Pok Klao Road, Soi 2. If you come from Bumrung Buri Road turn left into Ratchamanka Soi 6 (between two 7 Eleven) and the next right. You will see the entrance on the right side.
